Collin Gosselin wants to join military, begin acting amid estrangement from Kate Gosselin and siblings

NEW YORK — Colin Gosselin wants to join the military, and he’s eager to begin acting in the wake of the split between his mother and sister.
But while his mother, Kate, and youngest sister, Kim, have been vocal in talking about their hopes for his future, Gosselin refuses to play along.
In an interview with The Associated Press in Los Angeles on Thursday, he denied that he was ever estranged from his mother. He blamed it on Kim, and said she has been the “leader” in his life.
“She’s the one who’s made the decisions,” he said. “I know that. And I understand that.”
Gosselin said he only learned about his mother’s separation from Kim and their other children in January when he came home during his break from the military and was handed his military ID instead of the birth certificate he was expecting.
“I don’t know what to do anymore. I didn’t know where I was. I was really confused. I wasn’t feeling well. I had to go to the emergency room and get examined,” he said.
The separation isn’t surprising to his sister, Gosselin said.
“I don’t think she was ready,” she said. “I mean, I think it’s really hard, but I can understand it.”
Gosselin moved out in January, after Kim filed a petition to end their 50-year marriage. He said he was going through a divorce and wanted space. Kate has said she was going to file for divorce as soon as Gosselin’s
